On Airport Security
Apparently a wine opener (those <$10 ones) classifies as a weapon and can’t be brought on a plane. Seriously, you have got to be kidding me. The fastest way to make me a not fun person at 6.30am is to make a huge fiasco out of the fact that my carry-on contains “a weapon”, unpack my entire bag, and send everything through the machine not once, not twice, but THREE times. Oh and “confiscate”...

As I run all over ATL today taking care of last minute moving stuff (by myself), I’m extremely thankful to have a dad who taught me how to take care of myself, how to work hard, and how to go for what I want. Shout out to all my INDEPENDENT WOMEN friends and to the men (or women) who can not only handle but respect and love these qualities in their significant other.

Moving Day
I walked back into my (now “former”) apartment in Atlanta last night. I’ve been gone for about a month and a half and took only a suitcase (okay well 2 suitcases). It was completely surreal waking back in…like walking into my “old” life. I just wanted to sit on my own couch and look at my stuff. Like “hey, bed/pictures/clothes - I missed you!” But, alas, I only had one night in my old life. The...

Random but true things about this week: I bought an Amazon Prime Membership, and now my first thought when I need anything is - “I wonder if I can get it cheaper on Amazon”. Most times the answer is yes. And as a corporate business woman who has read countless business reviews of Amazon Prime and why it’s helped Amazon soar past all other online retailers and brick and mortars, I cringe a little...

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely...”

“There is a saying in Tibetan, ‘Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.’ No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that’s our real disaster.” - Dalai Lama Went outside and ran 5 miles this morning because that’s what runners do - we run to raise money for a good cause, we run to honor others, we run to be...

– -Martin Luther King Jr. {the only quote I can turn to on days like today} My heart goes out to all of the runners, spectators, volunteers and staff in Boston today.  This is unfathomable and just so tragic.  Sending light and love to all of those affected - not only in Boston, but in the running...

Friday Mornings at the ATL Airport
-there are few things more annoying than listening to two young ladies talk in extreme southern accents about their upcoming weddings…which they are spending tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of dollars on. Seriously?! It’s one day, get over yourself. I swear, some ppl just get married to check the box…and if they can outdo all their friends - then they “win”. (Yes,...

Today I am thankful for: recognizing the difference between “good” stress and actual stress, time to cuddle up with a good book tonight, yoga, my extremely supportive friends and family, new adventures on the horizon, sunshine, a long weekend, and my sister.

UNC vs. Dook, 9pm
“I hate Duke with an infernal passion undying. I hate every leaf of every tree on that sickening campus. I hate every fake cherub Gothic piece of crap that litters the buildings like hemorrhoidal testaments to imagined superiority. When I see those Dookie boneheads shoe-polishing their faces navy blue on television, squandering their parents’ money with their fratty elitist bad sportsmanship...
